Watanga Football Club ("The Warriors") uses a very small number of cookies. This policy explains exactly which ones we set, why we set them, and how you can change your choice at any time.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between requests. They cannot run code and cannot read anything else on your device.
2. Cookies this website sets
Every cookie below is first party (set by watangafc.com itself) and is required for the site to work or for a feature you asked for. We classify them as strictly necessary or functional.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
watanga-fc-session |
Strictly necessary | Keeps your visit working and, once you sign in, remembers who you are so you can use the Fan Zone, the shop and your member portal. | Ends after 120 minutes of inactivity, or when you log out. |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Strictly necessary | Protects every form (sign in, registration, checkout, contact) against cross-site request forgery. | Until you close the browser. |
remember_web_* |
Functional - you choose it | Only set if you tick Remember me when signing in, so you do not have to sign in again on your own device. | Up to one year; removed the moment you log out. |
wfc_cookie_consent |
Strictly necessary (your preference) | Only set when your browser blocks local storage. It stores nothing but your cookie choice so the notice does not interrupt you on every page. | One year. |
3. What we do NOT use
- No advertising or ad-targeting cookies.
- No analytics platforms, no behavioural tracking, no cross-site profiling.
- No third-party marketing cookies of any kind.
- No cookie is set for optional purposes, so declining the notice enables nothing - and accepting it only records your agreement to the necessary cookies above.
4. Third-party resources: fonts, icons and video players
The site serves its webfont and icon stylesheet from watangafc.com itself. These are file requests to our own server only: no third-party font or icon CDN is contacted, no tracking cookie is set, and no cookie-consent choice is needed for them.
Video cards on the homepage and in the news section point at YouTube and Facebook. No player is loaded when a page opens: while you browse, only a still thumbnail is requested (for YouTube, img.youtube.com), which is a static image carrying no Watanga FC cookie. The browser contacts youtube.com or facebook.com for the video itself only after you press play, and those platforms may then set their own cookies under their own policies. Declining our notice does not disable these features; pressing play is what involves the third party.
5. Your choice
When you first visit, a notice offers two buttons:
- Got it - records that you accept the cookies described above and closes the notice.
- Cancel - closes the notice and records that you did not give consent. Your cancellation is never stored or described as acceptance. The strictly necessary cookies still operate because the website cannot function without them.
Your decision is saved in your own browser (local storage, or a first-party cookie if local storage is unavailable). Nothing about your choice is sent to our servers and no personal data is collected by the notice.
You can change your mind at any time: use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page to reopen the notice and record a different choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking the necessary cookies will sign you out and break the shop, the member portal and form submissions.
6. Questions
